Saturday, 5/22/10 - Garden Promises

All photos in this post were made using extension tubes on a zoom lens. Extension tubes effectively turn any lens into a macro lens by allowing you to move in much closer than the lens' normal minimum focus distance.

In these shots three extension tubes were stacked behind the lens (36mm, 20mm and 12mm) allowing the lens to be under 6 inches from the subject.

No post-capture manipulation was performed on these images.

  1. You hit my hot button again not only for the expertise of the photography but because I love to grow vegetables (as well as flowers). The picture of the tomato "baby" has to be my favorite of all these. No cucumbers here, but they are fascinating. Thanks.
